Nancy Davidson's Hanky Code references the historical use of color coded handkerchiefs worn to indicate sexual preferences and fetishistic desires. The paisley pattern commonly found on these kerchiefs is redrawn by the artist's hand for the two color silkscreen printed onto unique hand cut and sewn cotton.
